Auction Terms & Conditions

General Auction Information

This is an internet auction; all bidding is conducted online. Product fulfillment is dependent on the customer's "Preferred Pick Up Location" - either at a dedicated Dutch Goat pick-up location or via shipping services.

• Lots will close approximately every 5 seconds.
• The auction uses a soft close, meaning items remain open for 120 seconds after the latest bid to simulate an authentic auction atmosphere.
• We do not currently offer in-person previews, but you may request additional pictures or ask questions using the Question Mark icon next to the bid amount on the lot detail page.
• The Dutch Goat Trading Company reserves the right to reject any bid and/or bidder at our sole discretion.

Item Descriptions & Condition

• Unless otherwise specified, all items are sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" with all faults.
• The Dutch Goat Trading Company allows for returns on some items. Please refer to our Return Policy below.
• Descriptions are believed accurate but not warranted; measurements and counts are approximate.
• Dutch Goat, like most auction houses, is not an authorized retailer for any brand or item listed in our auctions. As a result, any manufacturer warranties or guarantees that typically accompany these products may not be honored by the brand owner.
• Bidding on an item is a binding agreement. By placing a bid, the bidder signifies that they have examined the item to their satisfaction or chosen not to examine it.
• Some items may be sold per piece, with the final price determined by bid price x quantity (e.g., $12.50 x 4 = $50.00).

Pickup & Payment Policy

Pickup times are as stated on our website: Dutch Goat Contact Page

• As of August 16, 2024, pickups are available only during auction weeks, on the days immediately following the auction close. We are closed for pickups during non-auction weeks.
• Auction week is defined as a week (Sunday - Saturday) in which an auction closes.
• Non-auction week refers to any week in which no auction closes, during which we are closed for pickups.
• Burley: Tuesday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Lehi: Friday, 12:00 PM - 4:45 PM & Saturday, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Items must be picked up within the specified timeframe. We cannot hold items beyond the pickup period.

Exceptions: We reserve the right to extend the pickup window at our discretion. Extensions may be granted based on special circumstances, but they are not guaranteed.

Items not picked up (NPU) according to the Pick Up Terms may result in:

• Progressive NPU/relisting procedures/fees:
  • 1st NPU: Active credit/debit card required to be on file
  • 2nd NPU: $20
  • 3rd NPU: $40
• Forfeiture of the right and claim to the property.
• Blocked account until the fees are paid.
• We reserve the right to permanently block any customer for non-pickup or non-payment.

Accepted payment methods:

• Cash
• Credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover)
• Venmo

Payment is due before items can be picked up and can be made online before pickup.

A $25 fee applies to returned checks.

Invalid credit cards may result in the buyer being banned from future auctions.

If the bidder does not pick up their items as described above or has applicable fees as outlined in these Terms & Conditions, we may charge the Card (Credit, Debit, etc) on file.

Sales Tax & Buyer’s Premium

Sales tax is applied based on pickup location:

• Idaho: 6% (subject to change according to laws)
• Utah: 7.45% (subject to change according to laws)

Auctions include a 10% buyer’s premium unless otherwise specified.

Return Policy

We strive to be your trusted auction source with an industry-leading return policy.

Items won during the Estate Auctions are sold As Is, Where Is, with no returns or exchanges.

All items in the Bi-Weekly Household Online Auctions fall into one of the following return categories unless expressly indicated in the individual listing:

• Green:

  • Items may be returned within 14 days for a full refund if they are mislisted, meaning they differ from the auction title or description (e.g., missing accessories, listed as working but does not function).

  • Additionally, if a buyer changes their mind about an item in the Green category, it may be returned within 14 days with a $5 restocking fee, provided it is in the same condition as listed at the time of auction.

• Yellow:
  • Items must be inspected upon pickup to be eligible for a return. If the item does not match the title or description, a refund will be granted. Once an item leaves our building, it is considered As Is, Where Is, and cannot be returned.
• Red:
  • Items in this category are sold As Is, Where Is with no returns or exchanges. The only exception is if the title or description is incorrect. Assumptions made by the bidder do not qualify as misrepresentation (e.g., assuming an item is new when its condition is unspecified). Mystery boxes and miscellaneous bins are included in this category.

If a customer would like to return an item that was accurately listed but is now in a different condition, the buyer may pursue placing it on consignment per our Consignment Policy.

Consignment Policy

Items are accepted on consignment at our sole discretion, based on space availability, inventory quantity, and other operational considerations.

Additional Terms

This is a public auction, not a retail service. All sales are final—no returns or chargebacks unless explicitly allowed.

The Dutch Goat Trading Company reserves the right to remove any lot before the auction closes.

By bidding in this auction, you agree to all posted terms and conditions.
